Default Gotta question about a set up? Will it make power?

A guy a friend of mine knows just got a 99 SS. M6 410s but its "supposidly got a 6.0 in it". They think a truck motor is a LS2 but anyway its suppose to have a 551 lift cam ??? seems small for a 6.0 and ported stock heads and the LS1 intake. Well the guy has been talking smack to my friend about his 4.6 GT (I know) but I honestly dont know if this would run any better than a stock car would it? Heavy cast block, small cam, untuned. If it is I wouldn't think it'd be much faster than a bolt on car would it? The thing about the smack talking is they refuse to race it. They say it costs to fix it back. Why buy a cammed Fbody to crawl around in. So would a stock ported ( probably a home job) head, 551 lift cam ??? what would it be? LS1 intake equipped, untuned 6.0 be very effective? sorry if im in the wrong section.

First off, if it's an iron block, it's not an ls2.

2nd, this belongs in the dyno/What will it run section.

Other than that...depending on the mustang, you shouldn't have any problem with it. I've destroyed them in my z when it was bolt on'd.
