Question LS2 timing chain question

i know its probly a dumb question but why is it so popular for people to upgrade their LS1 engine's timing chain to an LS2 timing chain? Ive especially seen alot of people do it when they put heads and cam in their cars...Im about to be doing a cam swap with a 224/228 TSP cam on my LS1 Z28 and i was wondering how much it could benefit me and is it really worth it.

The ls2 chain has thicker links. Noticeably stronger chain when side by side.

Yes it's worth it ,,,,,,,,the LS2 chain's links are a little bit wider and possibly a smidge thicker is it a big difference no ,,,,,,,,is the chain stronger ,,,,yes ,,,,,,and not only is it a better chain , but You can get the LS2 timing set at Rockauto 4 about $30 4 the Cloyes standard factory replacement set ,,,,,,,,,it's the 1 for the 2005 corvette . The reason it's worth it is the risk of breaking the existing chain . So depending on how many miles are on You're engine would determine the risk factor among other things .Same thing with the LS2 chain , if You're LS2 chain has say 70,000mi or 1000,000 mi and You're in the engine inst a cam or an oil pump or prefferably both , thats the time 2 go ahead with a new timing set also .

LS1 Chain on the left, LS2 on the right.

Can you spot the difference?
