ASA cam, spring combination questions
ASA cam, spring combination questions Rebuilding the engine for my road race only, LS1 powered Panoz.
I am using an ASA cam, Yella Terra 1.8 rockers, 243 heads.
The car is used for Vintage racing so absolute power is not needed. The engine is being left very mild for longevity, I want to race it, not rebuild it after every race. I did that for too long, I just want to have fun now.
My question is what valve springs to use. With the 1.8 rockers I will have .556 valve lift. Will the GMPP #12586484 springs work? They are rated at .570 lift.
The ASA cam has very low .525 lift so too much spring pressure on the cam is a concern, why I am shying away from dual spring assemblies.
Opinions, recommendations anyone.

Comp 918s are probably used 5:1 or more over any other spring, so that's why you hear more about them breaking.....I along with a lot of other people ran the 918's with no problems at all. If you want to be even safer you can go with titanium locks and retainers to drop weight off of the set up.
