Considering a 408 build ?
Considering a 408 build ? Considering this build, I would re-use my TFS 215 milled to 60cc heads, ported FAST 92 and Morell link bar lifters, The cam would be replaced by builder or a custom.
My ? is if I go with say callies compstar rods and crank what is the advantage of going I beam over H beam for the rods or dragonslayer for the crank?
Also who would you guys pick? Callies or Lunati and why? Thanks.

I think the I beam are lighter and stronger. But there is usually a 400+ price difference between I and H. As for brand I don't really have an opinion sorry. Most cranks are fine unless you are running some big power. The only reason most folks buy them is for increased stroke not strength.

Callies cranks also take into effect windage of the counterweights, i remember doing research on this before and some of their upper end models decreased the windage drastically to reduce drag - enough to require oil squirters for cam bearings and valvetrain. The other requirements were to run aftermarket blocks with improved oil routing to oil certain sections of your engine valvetrain before others. Most of the time a standard eagle or scat setup will do fine for what we use them for unless you are building for a specific purpose like boat/circle track/etc. and have other needs that have to be met.
