Default Oil pump question

I've read on this forum that 98 T/A oil pumps were not built as well as
later models. My bird has 137k on it, and oil pressure cold is around 40-45psi, hot drops to around 20psi. My question is should I replace the oil pump, and can it be change without pulling engine. Thanks for any help!
