Default LQ4 to LS2 difference?

ok guys i have a 2000 z28 i was told it had a 6.0 ls2 in it. as i started to learn some more about the ls engines i found the heads (casting number 241) intake, throttle body, injectors, the whole top end and water pump, are all LS1. i ran the casting numbers on the block ( 12551364) and it came up LQ4/LQ9 truck 6.0 iron. the fact in the end is the thing is a beast. it was built by an ex GM engine tech and i guess he did a budget build 6.0. cam, rods, pistons, ect my question is what is the difference of the LQ4 and the LS2 bottom end. (besides the iron block) and are they completely compatable with LS1,LS2 parts? obviously the heads and up are interchangable. but is the bottom end the same?

also what are yalls thoughts of an LS1 top on a LQ4 bottom? i would think the compression would be higher with the 241 heads. but i know cars well. been working on cars and trucks a long time. and i know basics of the ls series motors but not much. just learning along the way. thanks guys

The ls2 has knock sensors on the sides of the block instead of the valley like the Gen III LS1 and LQ4 like you have. The Cam position sensor is in the rear of your motor originally (ls1) as well as the LQ4 and the LS2 will use the front cover for the cam sensor.
bore/stroke/rod length are the same between the two and connecting rods do change depending on year from pressed pin to floating. With the LQ4 pistons and your 241 heads you will be close to stock compression give or take depending on the head gaskets, if the heads have been surfaced and if the block has been decked.

I have a sensor on the passenger side of my block just above the oil pan. Above the oil level sensor. Is this a knock sensor? If so than how is it an LQ4? Th casting number says lq4/lq9. The pistons rods and cam hav already been changed n the setup sounds pretty good.but its impossible for me to identify internals.

I do know th pistons are flat top. Not sure what brand or if they are freefloating pins. I Jus had th Trans out and saw no sensor in the rear. Where exactly is th sensor located on front ls2 or rear ls1?

Cam sensor is on top of the block behind the intake next to the oil pressure sending unit on lq4/9's. The sensor you mention on the pass side of the block is crank position sensor most likely
