96 lt1 to ls1 swap

96 lt1 to ls1 swap i have a 96 z28 with an lt1 that has 76,000 original miles. i went to see jesse today at wait 4 me (which i could not recommend any more for a tune. seriously did a great job) and we got to talking about my plans to start dumping in a cam next weekend. well...he started to convince me that spending a grand to dump in a cam for sixty horsepower isnt as good of an idea as just swapping to an ls1 and gaining more power stock. well...im lookin for some opinions on this. Its somethin i could handle...i just don't know where to start...or even if this is a better option? any experiences or thoughts on this? i plan on selling the lt1 in it now. but...im on a budget of around 2,000 or 2500 on top of what i could get for the lt1..and i really have no clue what i could get. this is just somethin i need some help on? what would i need to get? could ls1 fit on original tranny? where would be a good place to buy an ls1? and sell the lt1? i'm just a little underinformed on the subject. anything else i need advice or help on? thanks alot
