Default cam z06

so i have a 2001 z06 with just a few bolt ons like kooks headers, intake exhaust and throttle body. i want to put a cam in it but im not sure which one to get.im looking for a good street cam that will give he good torque and hp without sacrificing the driveability of my car. i do live in cali so im also looking for something to perhaps pass emissions?

222/230 .595/.595 114lsa cam and if you can, spend some money on a great set of heads, or port and mill your stock heads.

I think that would be about the biggest you could go and pass emissions...it would give you a big jump in power while still being street friendly

Not sure if it is mass produced or just a good custom grind......big split in favor of the exhaust, and decent lift that is still easy on the valve train and csn be used with just a good det of beehives for years with little to no maintainence.

Dug around for a minute with Google and the EPS 222/230 cam kept coming up, But with a .597/.600 lift.

If you stay at or under .600" lift everything seems to last a lot longer

That cam just a little to big for calif.smog, you'll want a cam that has at least -4* valve overlap. A 222(.581")/226 (.585")114+3 lsa with XE-R lobes would work good if you want to keep the lift under .600". If you willing to go above .600" lift then you could go with a 223(.610")/224(.600") 114+3 lsa with LSL/XFI lobes, or a 224(.609")/224(.600") 114+3 lsa with XFI lobes.

THe lift is fine. Going WAY over .600 with your application however isn't going to help anything too much. You will be bottled up by your intake/heads. Also, going over .600 puts a load on the tip of your rockers, and will eat at them after a while. Go look in this section, someone just installed a 219/223 cam with awesome results. That would be something worth looking into. I haven't sat down and done the math to figure out the overlap on that cam but I think you would be fine for CA inspections.

As stated, the lift is fine it's nothing radical.
The 219(.607")/223(.610") 114lsa cam has -7* VO..
