With my old cam only setup (230/224 reverse splits) after a stall I went from 8.3-8.4s in the 1/8th to 7.8s in the 1/8th. From 2.1 60ft hooking to 1.7

Also picked up a couple mph, the car no longer drags the brakes, and isn't a turd around town. Driving the car with the stock stall sucked.

A cammed ls1 on the stock stall is one of the circles in my own personal imagining of hell.

^^^ a lil exaggerated...that cam he has has an operating range starting at 2000 rpm which is the cruising rpm with 3.73 gears...obviously a stall will benefit at the track no doubt but you guys make it sound like he wants to go with a solid roller and afrs and drag slicks on the stock stall...you'd be suprised what the stock stall can do with that combo

I was stuck driving it like that for over a year because I wanted to build the trans and put a converter in at the same time. The stock cam was trash in the engine I had so it had to be replaced.

My cam was a 230/224 on XE lobes, 111+3. Peaked at 6000rpm. Still sucked with the stock stall. Wouldn't do it again.

Yea no doubt in retrospect if I had to do again I would do a converter first, but I was like the op in the fact that I got a killer deal on the heads and cam...I got a pi vigilante converter but one of the bolt holes threads were questionable so I sold bc I didn't feel comfortable using it considering how much work it is to install a converter without a lift, bc it def aint fun pulling tranny on your back lol
