Default Machine work

I'm wanting to order the callies wiseco stroker kit for the 5.3 truck make it a 363 the kit already comes fully balanced what kinda of money am I looking at to have the machine work done to the block to have it honed to piston spec (3.80) and set for clearance for a 4.0 crank and 6.125 h beams with all new cam bearings installed

Around here you'd be looking at about $250.

near me all machine work is around 200-400 dollars depending on what you have done

That's not to bad I was on katech and was adding it all up I was looking at there machine shop charges it can get way up there fast

motor work and parts add up real fast... i always leave a extra 1000 bucks leway bc i know im always going to be adding something else or forget alot of little things

What "clearance" work are you planning for the crank? My LM7 block did not require any clearancing for the 4" crank.

Here is what I paid for machine work at HKE:

Bore & Hone to 3.905 - $300
Line Hone Mains - $175 + $180 for ARP studs
Set deck height - $150
Clean and Deburr block - $50

IMO, boring to 3.905 would probably be the best bang for your buck in your situation. If you're already having the cylinder walls honed, going to 3.905" would probably be less than $200 more and net you 20 more cubes. The rotating assembly would be the same cost most likely.
