Built LS1 performance question
Hey gents,
Also posted in the New Ls1 owners section, wasn't sure which subforum gets more traffic.
Sorry for the newb-ish question, I still have a lot of reading and research to do. I'm eventually looking to do an LSx swap on my E36, and wanted to ask you guys what kind of performance / fuel mileage I could expect from a moderately built LS1/T56. My goal is roughly 450hp n/a, while still being practical and streetable. I've found a motor with the lunati 395 stroker kit / mild cam installed, and was wondering if something like this would be worth pursuing.
If anyone has any better/cheaper recommendations for achieving those goals though, I'm all ears. I still have a lot to learn with these motors. I appreciate your help.

"practical and streetable" is subjective. What some tolerate on the street could be a bothersome to others. Are you saying 450hp at the crank? If you are saying at the wheels, it wont be cheap and likely not the best for DD duty. You will need some really worked 243s with an agressive cam along with bolt-ons. More cubes does make it easier to make power and streetability comes with it. If you have the $$$, go find an LS3 or an LY6
