98 LS1 stroker?

I was talking to another Camaro owner ('00 SS) and we got on the subject of stroking and boring <spell? haha anyways. He said the cylinder wall on the 98s were thinner than that of the 99-02 Camaros and you couldn't bore the 98 LS1s out.

Is this true or is he mistake?

BTW I want to do a 383 stroker

Uhhh Im pretty sure they are the same some of the 01-02 cars had the LS6 block but it shouldn't have any bearing on it. Im almost positive that all LS1's are the same.

Your friend is right. 98s and 99s cannot be bored, just rehoned

Yea i believe the home limit on most ls1s are 20 thousandths vs the older block design on list .010" service limit. I know that because I have a 98 service manual and looked it up when I was curious
