Default Help with another lq4...

SO a long time ago i purchased a 2005 lq4 engine with hopes to put it in my desert racing truck. I have slowly been buying a few parts here and there but i feel that my lack of planning what i need will backfire. I want the motor to be 450+hp and at least 400ftlbs. What i have right now is Stock long block with 317 heads, ls6 intake, ls6 ported TB, ls6 yellow valvesprings, and possibly a near new ls7 cam. What should my next step be? Should i get some worked 243's and thinner head gaskets and call it a day? SHould i ditch the ls6 stuff and get l92 heads, intake and tb? Get a different cam? Let me know what you guys think. Anything will be helpfull? also suggestions on injectors would be helpfull too

Thanks

The stock ones, they have same runners as 243s just bigger chambers. So AI can fill those mammoth 71cc and make then the size you want to boost compression without loosing PTV clearance from milling.

Plus by welding and re cutting the chambers they can give you a better/ more efficient chamber design

Sweet. I like this idea. About how much might this cost ballpark? Also, if the ls7 cam isn't ideal, which one is?

Something a little bigger like a 224 or 228 would still keep it running almost stock

Would either of the cams work well with the beehive springs? Will I be in my target HP and tq? Do I need special spring retainers or will factory ones do?

A good set of comp or PAC beehives would work great with them...just remember, never use stock springs with anything other than a stock cam

If you go to an aftermarket camshaft, call comp cams and order a special cam with the correct lobes for endurance racing. A lot of the stuff that is popular for street strip guys will probably be too hard on your engine in the prolonged high RPM scenarios you are likely to see.

No thin gasket, AI will weld and recut smaller chambers in the heads to bump compression along with a port job, If i understand correctly.
