LQ4 advice.....
I'm running lq4, ls3 heads with .040 MLS gaskets, 231/236 Ls3 TSP cam.I have a ls3 manifold, rails, and injectors with the addition of a cable 90mm tb. I haven't had any issues yet and love the way the car pulls. I should have some n/a and 150 shot numbers tomorrow. I hope. I'm not sure if the truck tb would fit and if it did, you would be choking that intake. I picked the tb for just over $100

I did everything myself in the garage. I sold the ls1 out of the car for 2 grand, and ended up out of pocket $1500. That was with purchasing the lq4, ls3 top end, cam kit, yank stall, fluids, and tune. That's about as good as you can get for a budget and I really love the way the car pulls. Way better than the ls1. Don't let people scare you away from ls3 top end with the dished pistons. It's well worth it.
The stock 3 bolt truck cable TB will not work you need an aftermarket 90mm 4 bolt DBC one as there were no stock GM 90mm DBC TB's. Sure you could buy and adapter but that's even more $$$ for it. Also you will have to make a retainer for the MAP sensor as well. As its alittle different on the LS3.
