bad knocking sound?? lifter??
i have no idea what a lifter sounds like when it is going bad... i know what a piston hitting the head is, i just got done putting my new motor in because of that..
i made some passes at the track and the next day i let it idle with the hood up and every now and then i heard a cling sound and i drove it about 10 min real light to my house and my buddys came over and i let them hear it and right when i started it, it was horrible!!! loud as hell, they were yellin shut it off shut it off...
could that be more than 1 lifter going bad?? when i changed my motor, i did not get new lifters... i only have about 800 miles on the new motor and 94k all together on the lifters...
could it be that or maybe the flywheel? or whatever you call them in A4's??
any helkp would be great... just check the rockers then the pushrods first??
