Default MTI Stage 2E heads...

Is a core required? On their website, it says "plus exchange", but in the banner above it says "No Core Required". Which is the case? Is the 2E designation available on 5.3s, or just 5.7s? Thanks, Shawn

The LS1 2E's require a core ($1595). The 5.3 2E's do not ($1795).

what he said. all the $1595 2E heads require a core, but the "high Comp" heads (5.3l) are on special for $1795 without core. 2E is just what they use to designate this type of port work. it was put in to diferentiate between these heads and their $2800 race heads

Actually.. the big difference is the valve sizes. The 2R heads have larger valves that require more cutting for new valve seats.

According to their website the Rs are also "fully maximized" which I take to mean they are massaged a little more.

i know. the r's cost more because theres alot of labor involved in installing the bronze valve guides and and there is alot more time spent on the porting and chamnber work. i meant that they put an "e" at the end enstead of doing something like calling their old stg 2 heads 2.5's or something like that.
