Default Link Bar Lifters position?

hey guys, im in the middle of my H/C/I swap, and i got the comp short travel linked bar lifters. My question is, should the link bar side be facing the valley cover side or the piston side? Also can you guys school me on how to set the preload? thanks in advance

They will work either way, but should be installed with the link facing center on the motor.

Link bars facing the valley, arrows point up.

As far as how to set the preload, there are many, many threads on this. You need an adjustable pushrod and lots of patience. The short travel deals like about 0.040" of preload. This changes to about 0.030" when hot, right smack in the middle as they have about 0.060" of plunger travel.

Im using the.comp shaft mounted adj rockers, will that affect the pr length as well, also my heads have a valve angle job done, And i've seen some one in here that had to use like 2 or 3 ps length, would that be the case with the adj rockers?
