I am building a 383 stroker and I am trying to decide which cam will be best. I had very good luck with my prc stage 2.5 5.3 heads and 233/239 cam on my stock bottom end. I am going to run the same heads on the new motor and was thinking I should probably do a different cam. The setup is a flat top 383 with -6cc reliefs. 58cc heads. 4000 stall 4:10 gears. I have talked to a few people that say ms3 or ms4 are good but I was wanting to make sure I get something that is spec'd right for the motor. I want something that will make good power but I don't want it to be too doggy down low.

If you liked the 233/239 in your 5.7 you won't be anywhere close to thinking the MS3 is a dog. It's not too big at all and very close to a similar size when comparing cam sizes to cubic inches

If your 233/239 was nice add sqrt of the displacement difference.
According to Vizard thats a good way to size cams equivalents.
So 383-346=37 sqrt = 6
So 239/245 would be fairly equivalent. I think comp do an off the shelf LSR with 239/247
54-461-11 is their part number.
