Pushrod Length tool why less turns?
Pushrod Length tool why less turns? So with my comp cam Hi-tech pushrod length checker I found my length required 12 3/4 turns. In the comp instructions, they say to zero out the checker so the lines match up, before you begin to count your turns. If I did it that way my length would be a bit shorter.....and this doesnt seem right. Which is the correct way? You can see the difference in total length below:
12 (.050) = 7.4 + .075 preload = 7.475
12 3/4 (.050) = 7.4375 + .075 preload = 7.512

i believe they mean to zero out and line the lines up with it all the way in and count the turns out since it looks like you are running trick flow heads going off you measurments i would run a 7.5 pushrod which is common for them heads and will put you at .063 preload
