ok im getting ready to order my 383 stroker kit for my ls1 and i want to get the oil pump and timing chain at the same time along with the front cover. my question with you guys is what to get and what all should i replace? i dont want to have a hard time dealing with double roller chains but i want to do this thing correctly and once. bearings and rings are taken car of. thanks guys!!!

do you already have a ls1 engine ?go to Texas Speed site and look around.would it be cheaper to order a complete short block ,or have your block machined locally for a rotating assembly.I would get a complete rotating with all the bearing and rings included.you can get single row chains that fit with no problem.

im getting the rotating assembly with every (bearings). is a single roller chain ok? i see everyone talking about going to a double roller set up. and what about an upgraded oil pump? whats better high colume or pressure??

I've seen alot of people on here use the ls2 chain and have no problems.get the standard pump,make sure not to pinch the O-ring when installing the pick up tube.
