Default head gasket removal....
whats the best and safest way to remove the excess head gasket gunk from the ls1 block,just wondering whats best for it bein aluminum,i dont wna damage anything,any info?

I used some permatex gasket dissolvent first then I scrapped off the rest gently with a razor blade just dont get too aggressive with it and you'll be fine.

I have used the gasket remover and the razor blade method. If you are gentle it won't scratch the deck and tends to work the easiest, in my opinion.

Roloc disks. They have three grits, Yellow is medium I beleive and works great to clean everything with no issue.

I used a plastic ice scraper to remove the excess gasket. It works fine and you have no fear of damaging the block.
