Default tsp torqurer v2 driveability

I just was wanting some opions on this cams driveability. Manily i'm wondering how it is going to act if I want to drive the car on the interstate say 300miles shut it off get lunch then go another 300. Car will also more then likely have a yank ss3600 stall. I just never hear much about cammed cars and there long trip behavior. I'm also looking into the tsp 233/239 (i think those are the numbers). Want to know how its going to act with the air conditioning and cruise etc... Any opinons and experiances appericated.

The TV2 drives nice when properly tuned. I had it for 2 years a while back on a 113 LSA and I DD it all the time (races on weekends).
I would not have changed it if I didn't go to a bigger motor after I blew # 5 and # 7 on a nitrous run. I had a 3800 stall VIG with 3.73 gears.

Great cam. I have been using my car as a dd for the last few weeks. Specs are in my sig. If you have a tuner that knows what he is doing it will drive like stock. Besides the feeling, jerkyness of the stall but I prefer the feeling of a loose converter. It keeps you awake lol

Thanks for the info guys. I've never had a efi car with a cam so I'm new to it. Also never had anything with a stall so it's gonna be cool to see how the car acts. This car I never even drove it I just got it with a blown engine but I had a 98 before and all it had was a lid and cat back so im stoked to get this one going. I'm going to start pulling the engine on thursady night and see how much damage....

I am in the process of choosing my cam. I have it narrowed down to the Torquer V2 and the Tsp 228R. From what I have read on here the Torquer V2 is going to feel alittle soft down low but make a bit more up top. Typical dyno for the T2 is 385-405. The 228R will pull harder around 1600 but will make less power up on the top end, around 375-395. Both cams should drive well with a good tune but everyone on here has a different opinion of what is streetable.

I would rather have more down low, usuable hp then a higher peak with less usuable hp.

I am not sure if its a fact that the Torquer 2 loses power down low but its what I have read on here. The 228R should make a bit more off the line I would think. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Yea I'm not seeing this cam driving like stock. I will say it is borderline daily drivable, and that all depends on who the driver is.

The Torquer will make more peak, and maybe slightly less average than the 228 with the 228 making less peak than the torquer.

I'd still go with the Torquer if that's what you were looking at.

I've been running the TV2 cam for a little over two years now. Daily drove it for the first year and now take it out every couple of days. I'm driving in a 6spd and have complaints about it. Power pulls through the powerband and even more up top. Down low does not feel slugish and with the right gears and stall you will stay in your powerband when you want to. Gas mileage did go down a bit, as is expected with a cam but nothing to drastic. If I had to do it again I would go with the same cam. I've made 300mile trips in it without a problem.

I've pretty much ruled out the 233/239. I think that is going to be to much for my set up. I'm still thinking the torquer. I am going to look into the 228 some more though. The car will hit the track some. My next question would be about pushrod length what is the stock length? Am I going to have to worry about changing length on my set up? How do you know when it needs to be changed? I'm going to be running stock heads. I will get hardened pushrods I just don't know how or when the length needs to be changed. Also will be running stock rockers. This is ASSUMING all of the above are in useable condition which I think it will be... All info appericated!!

In my opinion it is no where the near borderline. My car is easier to drive to work every day than my 497whp duramax. I do have a version of a stock muffler on mine right now because my daily commute goes through a township where the police will **** probe you for having any loud aftermarket exhaust on any vehicle. (peters township if any of yinz are from sw pa) at partial throttle pull outs from stop signs and red lights it feels identical to my car back when i only had headers/4k stall and tune. It also climbs hills @ 40+ mph at very minimal throttle while staying in lockup. As far as daily driving I have no complaints. My truck however is a pain in the a**.

The 228R is probably about 5 less peak than the TV2.

I have 18k on my Tv2 with 3;90 gears and a 3600 stall. It is completely easy to drive sounds sick and performs well.

It drives so well I am going to a 244 / 252 cam on a 110 lsa

You wont regret going with the V2

Yeah..."drivability" and "Street-able" is very subjective in nature...What is not a problem to some is a PIA to others...

ANY cam with alot of duration will suffer down low to make more peak HP. Thats the name of the game. Thats why VVT was designed.
