You will see roughly 25hp from that cam ,,,,,,,,,,hp costs money so if You can afford a cam , aftermarket springs and p-rods ,,,,,,You can easily squeeze out 100hp . Go to Car Craft magazine and search junkyard LM7 ,,,,,,They put a *****-Thumpa cam , springs and gained 96 hp , but first for Their baseline #'s They took the j-yard 5.3 and put a carb/manifold , headers and an MSD ignition controller and picked up 50 hp and 15 lb/ft then the cam and springs and p-rods and gained 96 hp and 15 more lb/ft So Their b-line was 335 hp and 350 lb/ft ,,,,,then the cam and springs and I believe p-rods and dyno-ed 431hp with 365lb/ft ,,,,,,,,,,then They tried 2 different cyl heads the better 1's being cnc-ed and got a respectable 459 hp and 398 lb/ft . Flywheel #'s of course

A carb set-up needs a radically different cam than an ls6 for proper signal.

That would be a much better choice. Install it straight up dot to dot.
