Default is this custom grind good for boost? cam experts wanted

posted a similar thread in the forced induction section but got no replies. I have a custom grind cam for my tt 408 with 317 heads and vic jr with 9.3:1 cr. I was given this cam by my tuner 236/240 640/620 115+4. Now i am deciding to switch out the 317s for some aftermarket heads likely afr's if money allows. these specs look nothing like the tu2 or pat g cams or ls9 that everyone is raving about. yet, i've always heard that custom grinds are always the best way to go. i'm aiming to get 1k hp to the wheels through a m6 and have good response out of boost as well. thanks for advice

I think it will do fine.

My stage three turbo cams are similar in profile although don't have as much lift as that one does.

For a 408 a TU2 would be way to small as would a LS9 cam especially one with twin turbo's.

It is really amazing how much the larger cube motors eat up duration. It sounds like good duration, but I think I would drop the lift down a little to add valvetrain life and maybe good a degree or two more on lsa

Thanks for the replies guys. I am happy to know I don't have to do a cam swap. I was worried about it being too aggressive compared to some other cams. But with the addition of some afrs and more boost, I guess I can sleep easier now

I agree with the lift change, but not the lsa. You don't want to kill all the overlap totally or move the EVO event too early although I do prefer an earlier EVO. How early will depend on the application and set-up.

Do you know who ground that cam? Trying to figure out the lobes it uses.
