Default What now?

I've got a 99 TA that I am looking to get a little more out of. So far it has the slp air lid, slp long tubes, and a magnaflow cat back. I am planning on getting the ls6 intake manifold next but after that I am not sure where to go. I was leaning towards a cam and the 228r seems to be popular but what else will I need with it? I was hoping to try and get to 400 hp but I'm kinda cheap and it's my DD in the summer so how much will my mileage suffer after the cam?

that's a broad question in sorts. will it remain your dd? a cam would be the next logical thing but it will require new push rods and valve springs and a tune.
you could do suspension mods as well and get that thing out of the air!

Yes, it will continue to be a DD. I guess the question is more one of, Is the 228r the recommended cam? I will need push rods though? I assumed springs would be required. Also, will i have to get a stall converter for that cam and any guesses on how much my mileage will suffer?

I just installed the 228R. You will need an ls2 timing chain, ported oil pump, dual springs, push rods and a tune. Its a good street cam. It has power everywhere and does not lose any low end.
