5.3L heads...from a 2001...work on a 2000???
5.3L heads...from a 2001...work on a 2000??? I picked up some 5.3L heads...and they were on a 2001 LS1...will they work on a 2000??? the gasket kit that I got doesnt seem to seem right...if you know what I mean...
heres some pics....should it look different...the gasket kit says for 97-01....but I dont know what really gets covered or not on the holes...I just dont want to get it all apart...and not be able to use these heads....
But this could also be because I have never done this on an ls1 and dont know what I am really looking at...
and please...only people who really know this...no guessers because the gasket doesnt leave all the holes open....

these are the gaskets for the 2000......sold to me by local Raging Motorsports...and part # matches Gm# on ls1howto.....
I just didnt know if the cross braces between the bolt holes gets in the way of anything....I dosnt look like it will get in the way of anything mechanical...but didntknow about oil flow or coolant flow issues...

You don't want to cover any holes.....that's for sure.....I can't imagine what the problem is...you can pretty much use any LSX style head on any model yr car...I don't know what the problem is. I know I put 2002 5.7L heads on my 99' from MTI. Worse thing, call them tomarrow they will be open
