what is needed to swap a ls3 into a 98-02 f-body?

Will your top end be Ls3 as well?

i was just looking at some ls3 motors as an option,id like to swap a complete motor,ls3 top end and all

wondering if the computer would need reprogrammed and if there was any issues with things not plgging up right as far as the alternater connector,other sensors

It would require a complete retune and either a reluctor swap or an adapter box from lingenfelter.

It will run, I did it. You'll need your Ls1 knock sensors bolted to the side of the block, one on each side. Map sensor extension, cam sensor extension but this harness comes with the knock sensor extensions. Other than that the Ls3 has 58xtooth reluctor wheel for the crank sensor and the Ls1 has 24x tooth so that why you'll need the LPE converter box. You'll also need to convert the timing gear to a 3 bolt cam sprocket and put a 4x bump on it. LPE' web site has all that info that's pretty useful.
