?I already have a set of stock head gaskets, but have since had Cometics recommended. I was wondering if there were any reliability issues with the stock head gasket, and if it was worth upgrading at this point. What would the advantages be? I will be using ARP head studs.

The stock head gaskets are very good. I use them for most heads and cam applications. Unless you need some odd thickness no need to switch.
