I have a 2006 silverado with 5.3 engine code T. I would like to know what I need to do to get 400-450 HP out of it and have a reliable every day driver. Any suggestions would be great.

 

well it should be a 243/799 headed truck correct? if thats the case you could try to cam, port the heads, full exhaust and ported fast intake, converter and see if it makes 400... OR put some form of boost on it and run 7-8 psi and do the exhaust setup..... i had a 5.3 make 352/344 with a fast 90, full exhaust and a 224/228 cam but to make a 5.3 reach 400 on a unlocked converter will require some $$

 

You should be able to reach 380 - 400 whp with a cam , intake , heads and exhaust with a tune and a convertor would'nt hurt
