Another PR Double-Check Me Thread I hate seeing so many of these threads out here, but after measuring my setup, I can understand why they keep showing up! My setup is a 346 LM4 with gm mls gaskets, ls7 lifters, ls6 cam, trunnion upgraded stock rockers and 799 heads milled to 62.5cc chambers, I'm pretty sure that's ~.015" milled.
I used the comp cams pushrods length checker and came up with 9.5 turns to zero lash. So I did 6.800"+(0.050" * 9.5)= 7.275" + 0.075" for preload and got 7.350".
Is that right, or does gauge length come into play here? It just seems like that combo should require a longer pr... But that's why I checked. I would check against a stock pushrod length, but the motor I'm replacing is not out yet. Any input from the experts out there (vettenuts) would be really appreciated.

Your method here is correct. Although we typically shoot for .050" preload, anywhere between .40"-.090" will work.
