Aftermarket lifters

Ok quick question I have harpland sharp trying to make sure I'm doing this right wen installing each set of lifters I make sure each cylinder is tdc right?

If youre just installing them then it doesnt matter. You just wanted the lifter all the way down on the lobe and make sure its not crooked

So installing them....do you just pull out the old and drop in the new?

I installed cam as well torquer v2 with 243s and I'm having some ptv issues

Sorry, but I am confused. Are you asking about lifter installation or rocker installation? The type of rocker won't influence how the lifters get installed.

Your heads may be milled too much but in general the t2 shouldnt have ptv issues

You never heard of using roller rockers instead of lifters? You get to really jack up the cam lift. when you multiply cam lift by 1.7 TWICE. That is probably why the PTV issues.

I was talking rocker install I heard you have to have each cylinder tdc when installing rocker on that cylinder... But I don't think that true I think my prs are to long

Technically you should, but plenty of people dont. How long are your pushrods? Also note most aftermarket cams have a smaller base circle so they require a longer than stock pushrod. Stock is 7.4 for reference.

I'm also using the ls7 lifters now I see there alittle taller the the stock ls1 I'm thinking it has to be but can't check til pr checker gets here... Or should I try doin each cylinder tdc and trying again

ls7 lifters run about 0.50-.070 preload

given the preload (and im assuming stock unmilled heads) and smaller base circle you will probably end up needing 7.425 - 7.450

Yes stock unmilled.. really 7.4 should be right? I wonder where my mistake is I think I'm going to put each cylinder tdc and see if that works

Figured it out rockers werent adjusted right plus cam was exhaust stroke 180 the cam no ptv problems no more thanks to martin from tick for the email write up
