I have read about a few issues with them, and last I heard, Eagle had recalled all of them.
Does anyone have any new information??

Yeh, I heard a while back that some shops were charging $300 to balance the cranks becasue they were WAY off from the factory.
Is this why they recalled them? ...can't beleive the quality control would be that poor....don't they inspect these things?

Both vcranks I had needed the counterweights shaved down to clear the piston skirts. The second crank also had the crank timing gear keyway cut too wide.
Some feedback from the 408 I just finished. After Mark got the motor home, he turned it by hand and the rod bolts from the front journal actually rubbed to the oil pan where the factory relief is on the pan. So a little extra clearancing is needed there on the inside of the oil pan.

Reckless- since you're talking about the rod bolt hitting the pan and not a counter weight, etc..., I'd say that that sounds more like an issue with the rod/rod bolt than with the crank.
Sure, the (stroker) crank moves the rod out away from the crank centerline, but I would think that (on this issue, anyhow) any crank of that stroke with those rods would do the same thing.
Or am I missing something here??

I had to send all my cranks back and just recieved the new ones. You can see where they put mallory metal in the cranks to balance them. They also shaved the counterweights.
So all looks good on the new ones
