.002 on rod resize right?
.002 on rod resize right? When.you get the cracked rod resized the number is. .002 right? Taking the Rods and heads to the machine shop today and want to know what to tell them
0.002" would be correct as long as your big ends are less then 0.002" out of round. If it's more than that you're still going to have problems, given that your max allowable is 0.0003". I would just tell them to go +0.002" on the bore as long as they'll all clean up with that - if they don't, then tell them to call you and work something else out. If they know what they're doing they should be able to recommend you a bearing in the latter case.

Give them the bearing part number and let them get the bore size from the bearing manufacturer. If they are a competent machine shop they're not going to take your word for it anyways. I do machine work and I always go straight to the tree when I need specs. This eliminates costly ambiguities.
