cutting valve reliefs

im going to change cams in my lq4 motor and will have to fly cut. How is the best was way to do this,, thinkin of making a solid lifter to start with.. now what i need to do? thanks for any help.

Just rent the proper tools from someone on this site or contact Isky cams and they will rent you them also. Flycutting sucks and make a mess imo.

Degree cam first, then measure your piston to valve clearance for depth, them make a determination on how much you will need to cut. Don't forget about your radial clearance also.

You can rent the tools. But I used and old head to it and it worked. I believe there is a write up on this site about using an old head. I search it for you but I'm on my phone.
