Default 00 SS what do you think

going to look at this heap this week. Something tells me to good to be true. If the price is right and its clean. Cant see why not getting it, putting my 12 bolt in and drive it till parts break and replace as needed.

It looks like the correct price for the mileage. Go check it out and look under it and check for any leaks.

No it shouldn't plenty of ls1 go over 200k no problem chevy designed the engine to go 250k without a hiccup this is 1970 anymore 170k on a well maintained car shouldnt be too much of an issue. Op i would go take a look at it and see what you find, it looks like a real clean car minus the drivers seat. If everything checks out make him an offer, later on save up for a motor.

I concurr. Hell the car still has the stock airbox. If it were me I would see about picking up an 8.8 ford rear for cheap throw some 4:10 gears in it and add all the bolt ons. Then drive it while I searched for a solid LS2 or LS3 to build up and swap in.

My car has 170k, its perfectly maintaineed, and was bone stock when I got it. no oil burned, no leaks, good oil pressure. I did have the tranny rebuilt, but that was from a stall installed incorrectly. I plan on camming it in a few weeks, enjoying it, and slowly piecing together a 370 or 402.

I agree with the comments said above. These motors have proven themselves over and over again to be durable. My buddy has had his ls1 for over 100k miles and driven it like a bat out of hell since day one and still running like a top currently having 190k. That being said go for it even with the caddy wampus center console.
