Default Heads on cam degreeing

I have the Comp Came 4942 LS1 cam degree kit.

I was wondering if I needed anything in addition to a piston stop in order to degree a cam with the heads on? Or is there something that is not included in the kit that I may need?

If you havent done this before it wouldnt hurt to have someone who has be there just in case. Mistakes here mean bent valves

You should use some light valve springs specifically for valve timing so the lifters don't collapse.

There are real good quality plunger type dial indicators made by many that go in the lifter bore and make degreeing a cam very easy if you use the lobe center line method, I use a proform one that has a rounded contact for roller cams and is very acurate for finding .050 before and .050 after peak lift and does not involve a lifter in the process so there's no room for error. If your building motors or helping friends they are the way to go. Good luck
