Just an fyi, you will need to re balance if you use the scat rods.

I agree I have a sunnen balancer, this motor is for a friend as a gift, so I did not want to get to wrapped up in the motor, and I just do not trust the stock ls1 Rods,

So I hope the Scat Rods are better, anyone use them,

Why don't you trust the stock rods? There are plenty of people running them to 500 + rwhp.

I have seen to many fail, for my application, we use them in long travel sand cars or trophy Truck style vehicles, we had one that it was a used low mile motor pulled out of a camaro 2001 one owner took it out to the Dunes and after
the second day it was just sitting in camp at idle no knocking an bamb it shot out the side, pulled the motor apart and the rod was a clean break, the bearing s look good even checked it with a digital spi mic, clearances where good pistons moved easy,

Most of the machine shops in Las Vega and the off-Road shops say do not use the rods, So I just did not want to chance it with a cracked style rod,

if it was a lq9 or a lq4 or even a Ls-2 rod, I think I would feel at better,

I have seen the scats down to $283 if figured it would be cheap insurance
