Default s2 ls6 heads safe or not

I bought a set of head and some of the valve have gaps. I don't want to risk dropping valve seat and blowing my motor. Would it be safe to run these heads or should get another set. thanks

If you can see light through the valves with them shut, then you should have a new valve job performed. I can't really see exactly what your talking about, but a valve job can be performed very easily for around $100 or so. I'd let a local machine shop look at them before you put them on your car. You might want to have them flow tested while there at the machine shop also to make sure you didn't buy someones hack job.

I can't see any light though the valves, there is a gap between the valve seat and the head. Like it isn't pushed in all the way. When you look at the pics the black line is as wide your finger nail.

I don't think you will drop a vavle seat.Call the manufacturer and talk with them.I am sure they would replace them if you do not feel comfortable with them.

Take a thin feeler gauge .0015" -.002" and see if it will fit between the seat and the head. If you can slide the strip in that gap, don't use the heads. Send them back and get another set.

I've bought a set of new CNC'd heads a few years ago that had the same problem. Aluminum shavings under the seat when they pressed them in. I replaced all the seats myself and that's what I found.

whos heads are these? who ported them? This way if others bought the heads they can check them before installing them. That is kinda bad when you can see light after the springs are installed.
