Head porting questions....

I am porting my heads, polishing the exhaust ports.
I am shaping them to a 1 3/4" "d" port. Flat on top rounded on bottom. First question is,
what size header will work better 1 3/4" or 1 7/8"?
Does anyone have a flow chart on "d" ports?
Id like to hear if anyone is running them, how they like them...
I know this makes good hp and tq in lots of other styles of engines by combining the square and round ports.
Please chime in, all feedback helps. This is my first gen iii build.
