Default Engine Tap Ls1

Hi yall i just bought a 98 camaro ss after driving it for about a month i started hearing a medium to loud tapping noise on the top of the engine whenever it got warm. so i went and tore it apart to look at the rocker arms, pushrods and lifters to see if any where bad. I stumbled on this lifter and found a small metal object in the same lifter tray could this lifter be my problem?

Please help
