a BIT. That cam is considered mild or a medium cam if you prefer. 114 will make it idle nicely. It would lope a bit more on a 112.
The 228 has a good lift though so be prepared for some dual springs and hardened P-rods.

I woudnt say it "shakes" the car. I would call it a very mild lope, just enough to know its there. Its perfect for me. I want people to know I have a cam but I want to be able to drive the car 15k mi a year without it annoying the **** put of me after a while. My old SB chevy 400 had a cam with a 110lsa on it and it sounded bad ***, but I couldnt even order anything at a drive-thru without having to turn the truck off first.

Dont get me wrong, I love a mean *** rumbly lope in an all out race car, or even more so in an older muscle car, but for something I drive every day, I need a little bit of refinement. Not to mention the 114 likes the spray a bit better than a small lobe separation. But hey to each his own.

Oh, and did I mention that the 228 has a GREAT street powerband?

Futral Motorsports and Texas Speed and Performance. You can get the FMS cam on a 112 or a 114, and I believe the TSP cam is on a 111

Mine is on a 112 and from Texas Speed. They were awsome on service and answering all my questions. I have never bought anything from Futral, so I can't say anything about them.

Does anyone know how either of those cams will run untuned with stock heads on an M6?

I just got my 228R and will install it and my s1.5 heads in about a month. I also have a set of ported ceramic coated macs to install as well. What kind of numbers should I be putting down afterwards? I dynoed the car with just a lid/k&n 324/339 but that was before my Vig 3600. Also what kind of gas milage are you A4 guys getting after H/C install?

I'm running a little bigger cam in a A4. I would get a tune either way to make it more driveable because it will try to surge and possibly stall some in a M6. I picked up 2 tenths and 2 mph at the track with my TSP custom grind 232/228 cam over my old B1 cam. For dyno numbers i don't know what i did because i don't get into to dyno numbers much but my old B1 picked up 31rwhp untuned so it's safe to say a good 45-50 rwhp gain from that cam.

I have the Comp Cam 228/228 .571/.571 on 112. It make awesome power in my opinion. It is street friendly as well.

I just can't wait until next weekend when I put the new spec III clutch in & the ET Streets so I can see what it will really do..

I've also noticed where some of you guys have larger gears like a 3.73 who would that gear work for a daily driver? My stall is pretty loose right now but I"m kind of used to it. Would it be to much for a 10 bolt?

Default The 228 Cam

I ALSO HAVE THIS CAM , MINE BEING THE TSP 228/228 .588/.588 112 lsa 2*adv.AFTER SEEING THIS CAM IN ACTION I FEEL I GOT AN EVEN BETTER DEAL.IN AN 01 M6 SUCH AS MINE IT WILL IDLE WITHOUT TUNING AND WOULD BEHAVE NEAR STOCK WITH TUNING IT WOULD JUST SOUND A LITTLE CHUNKY. I PURCHASED THE CAM SLIGHTLY USED AND HAVE BEEN IMPRESSED SINCE.ORIGINALLY I INTENDED USING IT AS A CAM ONLY INSTALL BUT I GOT A SWEET DEAL ON A SET OF 5.3 HEADS SO I'M GOING TO HAVE STAINLESS VALVES INSTALLED AND MILDLY PORT THEM TO GAIN MORE POWER !! I DON'T HAVE THE CAM CARD HANDY BUT THIS CAM HAS A LOW ADV. DURATION 277* BEING AN XER CAM IT HAS NEAR SOLID ROLLER AGGRESSIVENESS BUT NOT TOO EXTREME,THUS GIVING IT THE BEST OF EVERYTHING .THIS CAM CAN BE INSTALLED WITH NO TUNING IN AN M6 TOO BAD AN A4 NEEDS TUNING FOR MOST MAJOR MODS,WORKS GREAT WITH PORTED HEADS,MAKES SICK POWER WITH AN N2O SHOT 150 AND UNDER,AND DRIVES ON THE STREET WITH EASE. TAKE A LOOK @ TSP NEW 225 CAM , IT HAS SIMILAR SPECS AND MADE GREAT POWER WITHOUT HEADS AND EVEN MORE WITH WHILE PROVIDING AMPLE LOW END TORQUE TO PUTT AROUND AND BIG CAM POWER TO KILL MODT ANY STREET VEHICLE.

yeh well if you're doors aren't shaking a little bit you either got the idle set up too high or the cam ain't that manly.

Man i bet the t-rex guys are putting on a show with the door shaking(open) at idle.

you have to admit if someone gave you a cam that didn't lope and one that did lope hard but both made the same power, whatcha gonna pick. werd.
