piston sides

I have a set of wiseco pistons and i was just wondering how are they different from each other left and right i keep reading that they are off set and side specific but when you put them up to each other everything is in the same spot what is offset cause i cant see it.

I guess im just wanting to know how the pin is offset and what will happn if you put say a left side piston on the right side

do they have valve reliefs? if so then they only can go on one specific side.

Like said above, if they have valve reliefs in the pistons they can be only installed 1 way.

Yes they have valve reliefs but if you flip piston around to have the valve reliefs all match then whats the difference in them. Im not going to do that i would just like to know

Thnx all i finally found the info i was lookn for the offset is just for piston slap control. Damn google

The offset is not very much ,,,,,,,it's hard to see without specialized piston engineering equipment .

You mean like a 12" dial caliper? Lol.

Wiseco's usually have a "box" shaped pin boss. If you look at the material thickness on either side, you can usually see the offset. Other brands may not be so noticeable, but a 12" dial caliper is all you need to measure the distance from the pin boss to the skirt.

which pistons do you have? generally the intake relief is of a larger radius than the exhaust relief. if you match the respective reliefs up with their respective valves in the head they only can go in one bank. it's pretty simple.

intake valve towards the front of the motor on the odd bank, intake valve towards the rear on the even bank. all reliefs are oriented pointing towards the center of the block.
