Default Motor won't turn when main caps are torqued

Sup guys got 02 5.3 and I torqued the main and rods and motor won't turn. I got the heads on and the plugs are out. Cam is in along with the rockers, pushrods, and those are torqued also. I just untighten the mains and the Motor turn fine. I torqued the main to 15 ft lbs and 80 degrees

Did u mic everything? Sounds like not enough clearance, wrong berrings? Maybe? Looks like u have a case of berring bind. Not sure but the torque spec dosn't sound right.

You didn't mark them before removal???

I admire people trying to do their own labor, but atleast research the task a little before you begin. The caps need to go back on where they came from. Checking bearing clearances are a must If there is too much, you will have low oil pressure, too tight and you will smoke a bearing and destroy the crank and most likely the block. Lot of $$$ down the drain.

Take it back apart, check the bearing clearances, make sure the caps are facing the right way and are torqued properly. You can't just slap it together you have to mic the journals and bearings and check everything.

Take the entire thing apart and spend a week cleaning that **** up. That motor needs a lot of cleaning before putting together.

Good lord, sorry dude but I am going to bash you a little. This is the reason we see broken parts all the time. You really have no reason being in there if you can not even get the main caps on right. The LS motors are even marked from the factory. The old SBC's were not, you had to mark them yourself before you took them apart. This is the reason I never buy a modded car. I would rather do the mods myself.

You should at the minimum plastigauge it.

Buy a book or search the internet....
