Default cleaning ring lands

Hi all. Doing head swap and there's a lot of gunk and grit that has fallen on the pistons and is sitting in the ring lands. Shop vac isn't getting it all. Any of you have an idea/technique for cleaning those out before I start moving the motor?

Thanks!

after cleaning as above or any other method , round the edge of the piston with a magnet to pickup any metal debris to add mind peace , beware of not scratching with the magnet itself, nothing to loose.

I agree with this method, I have used it several times before.
