Default Cam and header install. How Long?

How long does it usually take a shop to swap a cam, valves, rods, and headers and tune a car.

Honestly couldn't tell you how long it takes them to do it, but....

a few of us here in the milwaukee area have gotten together for modfests and all helped out each other. we did a cam install(minus doing the valvesprings, they were already done) and it took us probably 6 hours, with a pizza break, running to get forgotten parts, running to get a magnet cause a cam bolt dropped in the oil pan etc... as for headers, they can be done pretty fast, i did my hooker lt's and we all got together to do MAC's on a '97 as well as a '99 Formula. doesn't take too long unless you have a TON of people there and it turns into a bench racing session.

as for tuning the car, that's something i haven't done, but a shop with a reputable tuner(Speed Inc.) can have it done in no time.

yep, there are a quite a few of us out there. quite a few sneaking around with some nice setups check out the brewcity link and you can see when we get together for even trips to Romine's to shoot some pool or even trips to Hooter's for wings. we are a close group and help each other for everything. helped one of the guys move a few weeks ago. so come on over and register for the messageboard, and you are invited to any of the events. also, check out the www.mfba.org site and check on our trip to Road America in early/mid April for a track rental. i think all spots are taken, but you can still come to watch, and that's a lot of fun too.

I'll be there, I help run it My close friends in the club are the ones who started it.

Well just for comparison's sake, it cost me 12 hours shop labour charge to install the Hotcam (with new springs) and FLP long tubes. Now if you can tempt some buddies to do it for pizza and beer, that's by far the better deal!
