Exclamation Engine Noise 2000 Camaro SS

A little bit about the car:
2000 Camaro SS,
LS6 Intake and throttle body,
Fly cut pistons,
Stage 3 tea heads,
Trick flow chrome molly pushrods
Comp pro magnum roller lifters
comp cam: 275/295 219/233 109
double roller timing chain,
LS6 High volume oil pump.

Finally nice up in Michigan and took the car out for the second drive of the year.. A couple miles from home a noise developed.. Was running fine other then high idle issues I have. Noise seems like its coming from the top driver side.

In the video the car is at about 1000 rpm till I rev it a little.

Thanks for any input!

Ian.

sounds like a bent pushrod to me, pull the driverside valve cover...before you pull the rockers push down on them at that back see if you can move the pushrod, possible it could be a collapsed lifter. If there is a lot of pushrod travel, that is the case.

How is your oil pressure? It is definitely a valvetrain noise, so that is good at least.

Pop the valve covers off and check for a loose rocker arm or a bent pushrod.

+1, also check for a hole or crack in your exhaust mani or header welds a small leak can sound like a collapsed lifter/bent pusher. You could also chase the sound down with a long screwdriver to your ear press one end to the inside top of the head where it meets the intake this will tell you pushrod/lifter w/o pulling the covers off.

Thanks for all the great input gentlemen! I was thinking valvetrain but wasn't totally sure.. Oil pressure at idle is at 40 ( using factory gauge ) and pressure has always been great..
