Wish I could. I would do new springs anyway, instead of tossing the cam in, and wondering when the springs were gonna go. Might as well do them at the same time, and know the springs will be alright.

lol sorry for asking the question that way. I do intend to change springs when I change the cam, but I was wondering how long the proper springs would last. sorry about that

Still kinda hard to estimate a life span for springs. It's kinda like saying "I wonder how long that pushrod would have lasted if I didn't pull that 3-2 shift..."

It'll depend on too many factors like your spring choice, driving style, time you spend at the track or on the dyno, etc.

Get some good ones, and there's no reason (if installed correctly) they shouldn't last until your ready to change them for some other reason.

I can say ive had this cam for about 9 months now. Dialy driven, autoX, 1/4, freeway racing.. makes a nice LONG tq band and power up to 6800 if you wanna spin her that high. I get comments all the time of its "old school" sound. MPG didnt suffer much either.

hate to agree with fuckstick, but the X1 cam does pull nicely all the way through the power band...I had my car retuned and set shift points at 6500 instead of 6800 like i had it (from MTI), because it didn't really make ay more power, but it held the power through 6700-6800...just no need to shift higher than 6500 on my combo.

I've got the X1 and love it. Dyno is in sig, with TB and pullies it should be > 400 rwhp with stock heads.

I've put 7,000 miles on since install and its a daily driver. Manners are pretty good, it will hunt for idle occassionally on hot start and buck at low rpms sometimes (only requires briefly engaging the clutch to settle it down).

I plan to have the springs changed after 15,000 or so miles, just for insurance although MTI told me they could probably go to 30,000 miles.

Great cam, definitely no regrets!
