Pushrod measurement help base circle ect
I'm reassembling my engine and have followed the how to using the comp can pushrod tool and with a .080 preload my pushrod length would be 7.305. I'm getting zero hash at 8.5 turns. I believe this is to short for running a mild cam and 799 heads. Only thing I can think of is that my lifters aren't on the base circle how do I put them on the base circle or check to see if they are

Turn the engine over until you see "no" movement in lifter/pushrod height. With the stock cam that should be more than half of an engine revolution. It should be evident when the lifter stops traveling. That is the bottom (base circle). Hope that helps
