Default Installing compstar rods

About to finally start building up my short block 383 iron. I have some compstar forged rods. I'm sure there is a right way to install these but I have no paper work for these. Can anyone help??

Thanks

Neal

Make sure the chamfered side faces the crank chamfer. If you are using pistons with valve reliefs make you you put those on the rods facing the right way otherwise you will have pistons and rods backwards etc. Contact Callies for the proper toruqe specs

There is no chamfer on the stock rods or bearings. And there is no fillet on the crank journal.

I have mine apart right now.
I found that pretty odd...........

So my guess is they can go in any way you like, except upside down......

He has Compstar rods and an aftermarket crank, so it does matter.

The aftermarket rods assemble onto the pistons so that the tangs in the big end bore are on the opposite side of where the valve reliefs are. This will orient the rods so that the chamfered side faces the cheek of the crank like it should.
