LQ4 Ideas
Hey everyone
So I have decided to take the plunge on an LS swap into my 78 Trans Am. Its something I have wanted to do for a while now, and even sold a strong 474 Pontiac engine to get me started. Basically the more i started reading through LS forums, the more it became a no brainer. The money per HP was a huge factor, Pontiac stuff is just plain expensive when good power is the goal. Seeing what guys are doing with JY builds and turbos is amazing.
So basically Im trying to get an idea of where id like to go with my 2000 LQ4. First off id like to decide what to do with the bottom end. The motor has 130k on it, like i said I am new to the LS stuff, Im just nervous that if I have any decent power goals set for this motor am I asking for trouble when it comes to the high of miles on the stock rotating assembly? What kind of power goals are safe for this high of Miles?
PS: I plan on removing the Iron Heads
Thanks
Mike
